School of Rock
Dewey is a guitarist loving locks in a body and soul, but he was fired from a band for too hot passion and a selfish performance. When he comes back to the house, he is at a loss to pay a rent from his friend Ned living together with Ned’s girl friend. Then, the story of the substitute teacher of the private school comes to Ned and Dewey who wanted work pretends to be Ned and leaves for the distinguished Horace Green Elementary.
Originally it was work indifferent him to work as, but he notice that many children spending it at school of strict rules are feeble and find that there is talent of the music to the children more and hit on he cross a band in secret, and participating in a band battle.
Dewey Finn nicknamed "Mr. S" after persuading the class that he is the real Ned Schneebly, Dewey is a down on his luck, dead beat, to be a rock superstar. When his roommate Ned's girlfriend demands he pay his share of the rent or get out, he pretends to be Ned as a substitute at the high-brow Horace Green Elementary.
Summer Hathaway is the class factotum. Summer is determined to please and succeed, even if it means using somewhat unethical means. She is designated by Dewey as the band-manager, and during the latter half of the movie, Dewey is quoted saying "Summer is going to be the first woman president of the United States".
Zack Mooneyham is the talented but shy lead guitarist of the School of Rock. Dewey is quoted saying "He's the next Hendrix" about Zack during the latter half of the movie.
Freddy Jones is the "rebel without a cause" and somewhat of the troublemaker, is the drummer of the School of Rock.
Katie is originally a cellist. Katie takes up the bass guitar. Despite being a core member, her character does not really have many lines because she's portrayed as a quiet girl, but eagerly takes interest in rock music, citing Sheila E and Meg White as "good chick drummers".
Lawrence is a quiet "nerd" who becomes the keyboardist for the band.
Tomika is very shy about her physique, later becomes "Songbird" after Dewey realizes her singing talent.
Marta is another back-up singer, showing off her voice with Tomorrow from the musical Annie.
Alicia volunteers her singing voice to become a back-up singer, "auditioning" with Amazing Grace.
Billy is originally assigned security, Billy requests he be band stylist instead. Fans have assumed Billy is gay.
Gordon is a roadie and is noted for his exceptional computer skills. He made the light show in "Battle of the Bands".
Marco is also a roadie with Gordon. He works the smoke machine during the Battle of The Bands performance.
Frankie is at the beginning of the film, it appears he is good friends with Freddy, and the one who interacts jokes with him the most. He works on security.
Leonard works on security along with Frankie.
Eleni and Michelle were designated the groupies by Dewey, they are given the task of naming the band.
Rosalie Mullins is the very uptight and strict principal of Horace Green Elementary. It is revealed that she was "not always wound this tight", but the pressure of the parents for everything to be perfect has made her into someone she never wanted to be.
Ned Schneebly is Dewey's roommate and best friend.
Patty De Marco works for the mayor and is Ned's girlfriend. She hates Dewey, constantly berating him for his lack of a proper job and inability to pay rent.
I don’t familiar about rock music, but I could enjoy this movie. First of all, needless to say Dewey was amused me, and the story was interesting vintage American movie, but above all, I thought the children were very cool. At the beginning of the film, the children were described sober and dull a little, but they began to practice rock music and then they began brilliant and revive. The children each have very individual character. I especially like Summer, because she is sincere and ambitious.
I like the scene that Dewey and Rosalie went to drink the best. Rosalie is uptight at any time in her school, but when they went to drink, she got drunk and showed her true colors. I thought she is cute at that scene.
When I finished watching the film, it interests me in rock music and I want to know about rock music more. I like the story that excited me such this movie. Even if you don’t know of rock music, you will be able to enjoy the film.
